1. Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across insiderhub.co. Level AA is the benchmark most public bodies and procurement processes reference, and it is the one we hold ourselves to.
2. Current status
Partially conformant. Most of the site meets the standard, and some parts do not yet. Section 4 lists what we know is outstanding. We would rather publish that list than claim a conformance we have not finished earning.
3. What we already do
- Semantic structure. Every page uses real landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer), so screen reader and browser navigation shortcuts work as expected. Most pages also have a heading order that follows the content; the exceptions are listed in section 4.
- Skip link. A "Skip to content" link is the first thing a keyboard reaches on every page, and it moves focus into the main content.
- Keyboard operation. Interactive controls are native buttons and links rather than clickable divs, so they work with Tab, Enter, and Space without extra code. Buttons, links, and cards show a 3px high-contrast focus ring. A few controls still have a weaker indicator; see section 4.
- Reduced motion. If your system asks for reduced motion, every animation on this site stops. That covers the reveal-on-scroll effects, the counting statistics, the typewriter effect, and the scrolling marquee.
- Contrast. We target at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text, on both the light and the dark sections.
- Touch targets. Primary buttons, navigation links, and form controls are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
- Text that stays text. There are no images of text anywhere on the site. Artwork is inline SVG or CSS, and decorative artwork is hidden from assistive technology instead of being read aloud.
- Fonts that degrade. Our typefaces are served from our own domain with a system font fallback, so text is readable immediately and stays readable if a font fails to load or you override it.
- Forms. Form inputs have real labels, validation errors are announced rather than only shown in color, and the contact form's success message is announced politely when it appears.
- Current page marking. Navigation marks the page you are on so it is not only signalled by color.
4. Known limitations
These come from our own review in September 2026. Each one is on our remediation list.
- Expandable cards and stat tooltips. Some cards that flip open, and some tooltips attached to statistics, do not fully announce their state or their content to a screen reader. The information in them is available elsewhere on the page or on request, but the interaction itself is not yet properly described.
- Moving content has no pause control. The scrolling ticker and the marquee stop for anyone whose system requests reduced motion, but there is no button on the page to pause them for everyone else.
- Article tables and figures. Some tables and diagrams in our longer articles have no caption or text description, so their point is harder to get without seeing them.
- Heading order. Two index pages have no top-level heading, and some resource pages skip a heading level, which makes heading-based navigation less predictable there.
- Weaker focus indicators. The option chips on the contact form and the text fields show focus with a border change rather than the 3px ring used elsewhere.
- Interactive tools. In a few of our worksheets, rows you add yourself are not fully labelled for a screen reader, and results panels can re-announce while you are still typing.
- Small footer links. The legal links in the footer are below the recommended minimum target size.
If you hit something not on this list, we want to know. It means we missed it.
5. How we assessed this
A structured internal review of the site's source code against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, carried out in September 2026. It covered the markup, styles, and behavior of every page.
This was a self-assessment. It has not been audited by an independent third party, and a source review does not catch everything that testing with real assistive technology would. Treat this statement as our honest account rather than a certification.
6. Tell us about a problem
Email hello@insiderhub.co. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what happened. Your browser and assistive technology help, if you know them, but they are not required.
We aim to respond within 5 business days. If a fix takes longer than that, we will tell you what we are doing and when we expect it to land. If you need something on this site in another format in the meantime, ask and we will send it.
